for SOMNIUM: THE BOOK OF WATER MYTHS & LEGENDS

Deadline: Midnight, US CST: May 27, 2023

SOMNIUM is an annual late-summer literary publication released by Mentes Extremófilas in conjunction with a collaborative, mixed new media public art production created and directed by Eddaviel Montero and Emily Klonicki that explores the world of human imagination.

The first edition, released in 2022 explored the world of Dreams and Nightmares through the perspectives of a variety of contributors from across the world. This year, in coordination with the 2023 SOMNIUM production, we invite writers to explore the theme of Water Mythology.

We accept English or Spanish language submissions of tales, poetry, flash fiction, short graphic and visual art exploring the theme through the lens of fantasy, science fiction, and futurism. We love to receive high quality submissions from new and emerging writers.

Writers are welcome to submit up to three pieces, not to exceed a total combined count of 2,000 words, through our submission portal below between February 15 and May 27.
