    This text is our first Fiction Review. An imaginative exploration of the book Dominican Splendours by the Dominican artist and writer, Vladimir Vel\u00e1zquez. Written in a Spanglish style, due to the street argot used by the author in many of the original tales. We considered useless to add a glossary explaining the Spanish words and phrases. That would take off from the reading experience its EXTREMOPHILE quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  What is about to start this night\u2026 \u00abNobody knows d\u00f3nde vayas a parar.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Neither know about it nor want it to, Luis Eduardo and his friend Pedro. The fucking rain won’t da\u00f1ar\u00e1 su party; even less the corpse within the car’s trunk. But to be circling the same Dantesque forest and running over their doppelg\u00e4ngers in in each turn, it’s taking the frozen shit out of them. The story in which they are de leading characters is already pure weird fiction. On top of it, the GPS indicates that the ill-fated Teteo won’t take place in the space time continuum of Dominican Splendours, but in Freakyland\u2026 HAY BOBO!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Without question: the shitty vibration infesting the perreo is worse than Covid 19 en  variante WAWAWA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  On the boardwalk the Penco can’t advance a single step. The horse collapses with the load of jucas and vapers that would make the Teteo a good vaina. The crime outrages palms and waves who phrase the chorus: \u00abRide up to heaven Penco, UP, UP, UP; there the bludgeons are given at least by angels.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But Pochum is the one taking the real vuelta. Poor guy: with the cocote he made to go to the Teteo: there he fancied himself reinando with the cuartos of his winning lottery ticket. Three hundred nineteen million! DIACHE! And how one can say it so fast? That’s a lot of perico and chapeadoras! The damned old witch who saw his fortune in a coffee cup, fell short in the bad omen. One thing is not being able to enjoy a lot of efectivo; another to be helpless before las versiones aplatanadas of Jason and Freddy Krueger: Topo Gigio and Bareta el Tr\u00edpode. They’re fed up because Pochum doesn’t want to give away the spot where he hid the ticket. Better for the torturers. They won’t see again the same movie of Quentin Tarantino, or the Japanese gore Ichi the Killer. They’ll film their own versions. In VIVOLA. And he’ll be the protagonist of a splatter punk de calle anything but splendour. Except for the blood sung by a Greek tragedy chorus integrated por POPPYS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  In Freakyland the Death Announcements are not about dead peoples, but for the ones that should die but refuse to do it. Ursula: the mother. Fatima: the daughter. A Psychic torture with the high definition of a paranormal power enhanced by hatred; the white room of a hospice placed in a given page of this book \u2014I leave the task to the potential reader to imagine what thing would have desired those two old women, having had youth and health. With whom satisfy such a desire will be obvious.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  The above curse is good news for Manolito the Magician. As the leading character of the story bearing his name, he should make tricks to liven the Teteo up for free. But forget it. To him money TALKS in biblical tongues. He josea lo suyo with the sweat of Satan’s brow, and the necromantic art inherited from his mother. And if they dare to venir con truco eh camara\u2026 Juhhh! He carved little figures of every character. And by the way, he doesn’t want to hear nothing about sharing stage with DJ Adonis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  A change of title and ON BOARD OF THE SHIP GOES el viejevo Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda. He’s scheming how to dump his wife Rosa over the cruise’s gunwale at the very mid of the Caribbean; escape with the mami chula he saw in the gym con un par de viagras in his pocket, and show up, in all his glory, in the Teteo walking hand in hand with her. Doing so, he’ll teach a lesson to all those palomos fans of El Alfa and Bad Bonny about the real PAP\u00c1 DEL MAMBO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  A similar cocote got the character Georgilio with an Ucranian femme fatal he knew via Facebook. His purpose is not so much bucase su visa, but coger c\u00e1mara with that rubia in the Teteo; post pila de selfies in his social networks and, finally, give her una pila eh\u2026 But calm down old cock! Like in the majority of these tales the master Vladimir Vel\u00e1zquez mixes, in an unprecedented way in our literature, the bizarre, the psychological horror, and the supernatural, with the many colorful manifestations of our Caribbean idiosyncrasy, surely the white collar Sanky Panky will be the center of the show, but from a Facebook Live broadcasted by an unexpected and dreadful fairy mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Oh, how I would like to go deep down into the bitter life of Miss Peggy \u2014A childhood nickname that frustrates our character every time it sneaks in her memory. Her blood is boiling because of the obligation to present her condolences in the funeral home, and say a long time cherished \u00abgood by maldito cuero\u00bb to the hated corpse of her sister. Because of that she won’t be able to desacatarse in the Teteo. At least she’ll see her dead \u2014A well deserved and healthy death. Totally dead. Happily dead. NO BULTO!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  And believe me. How I would like as well to follow the wanderings of Pablo \u2014that failed artist with his imagination turned into a palette of hallucinogens\u2014 through his recurrence dream: chasing obsessively a beautiful female ghost.  But he should never persecute her in his awakening through the streets of the Colonial Zone. At least in his dream he would be able to reach her in the Teteo, where the worst tragedy that could occur, was to find out his ideal maiden was a trans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But truth be told, I got a bad felling about this underground party. The star guiding three of our characters, foretells me this Teteo in Freakyland won’t have a happy ending. It turns out that Tom\u00e1s decided to invite a very special friends from planet Mars. They’ll come eager de mover la chapa better than Tokisha or Cardi B. La MAC\u00d3 el nerd.  He should better improved DR’s tigueraje, and not humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But the worst is yet about to come. For a gigantic monstrosity is heading straight toward the Teteo. He’s just finished to swallow down a bite not so tasteful for the lives of Mr. Daniel and his son Johnny. In their ranch was supposed to be celebrated the after party feast. But it became a single mass of meat, neither fried nor grilled nor stewed, but cooked by the post mortem revenge of C\u00e1stulo with the best body horror recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But even that colossus collague of spicy pork sausage, chicken wings and pork chops, stayed con el mo\u00f1o hecho \u2014For, all of a sudden: the WORLD’S END came about in full stage. 

  But don’t worry folks. Another Teteo is taking place this side of the speculative universe of Dominican Splendours. Right here, in the Theater House. Those beats aren’t of denbow or reggaeton, but from the synaptic processes of Vladimir Velazquez’s baroquely EXTREMOPHILE mind. Luckily his chaotic version of the world ending is confined to the pages of this literary debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  That said, we must be watchful reading these tales \u2014The borderline dividing the noise of a Teteo celebrated in Dominican Splendours from another in Freakyland, is just a page that, passed to the left in the wrong way, could end being sucked by the apocalyptic black star of the first story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lo que arranca esta noche... \u00ab\u00a1No se sabe donde vayas a parar!\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  <\/em>Tampoco lo saben, ni quieren, Luis Eduardo y su amigo Pedro. La fucking<\/em> lluvia no da\u00f1ar\u00e1 su fiesta, y menos a\u00fan el cad\u00e1ver que llevan en el ba\u00fal del carro... Pero las vueltas en c\u00edrculo en el mismo bosque dantesco; atropellar una y otra vez versiones de s\u00ed mismos, ya los tiene paniqueao<\/em>. La historia que protagonizan es puro weird fiction<\/em>. Encima el GPS confirma que el TETEO de la mierda ese ya no ser\u00e1 en el espacio tiempo de Dominican splendours<\/em>, sino en Freakylandia<\/em>. \u00a1HAY BOBO!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Definitivamente la mala vibra que infest\u00f3 el perreo<\/em> es peor que el COVID en variante WAWAWA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  En el malec\u00f3n el Penco ya no puede arrear m\u00e1s. El caballo colapsa con la carga de jucas y vapers que har\u00edan del TETEO una vaina bien. El crimen indigna a palmeras y olas que frasean el coro: \u00ab\u00a1Arre pa el cielo Penco, arre, arre, arre; all\u00e1 los garrotazos al menos los dan \u00e1ngeles\u00bb<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Pero la real vuelta<\/em> la est\u00e1 cogiendo Pochum. El pobre: con el cocote que hizo para ir al TETEO: pa rein\u00e1 con to lo cuarto de su billete premiado. Trescientos diecinueve millones, \u00a1DIACHE!, \u00bfy c\u00f3mo eh que se dice tan r\u00e1pido? \u00a1Eso eh mucho perico y chapeadora! La jod\u00eda vieja que le ley\u00f3 la taza se qued\u00f3 corta en el mal augurio que le vaticin\u00f3. Una cosa es no gozar de una fortuna, otra estar indefenso frente a las versiones aplatanadas de Jason y Freddy Krueguer: Topo Gigio y Bareta el Tr\u00edpode. Sofocaos porque Pochum no da luz sobre d\u00f3nde escondi\u00f3 el billete. Mejor para los torturadores. No ver\u00e1n la misma pel\u00edcula de Quentin Tarantino o el GORE JAPON\u00c9S Ichi de Killer de nuevo. Filmar\u00e1n sus propias versiones. EN VIVOLA. \u00c9l ser\u00e1 el protagonista. Un Splatterpunk de Calle<\/em> para  nada splendour<\/em>; a no ser por la sangre que cantar\u00e1 el coro de una tragedia griega integrado por POPPIS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  En Freakilandia<\/em> las notas luctuosas no son por los fallecidos, sino por los que deber\u00edan fallecer y no lo hacen. \u00darsula, la madre; F\u00e1tima, la hija; una tortura ps\u00edquica con el high definition<\/em> de un poder paranormal potenciado por el odio; la habitaci\u00f3n blanca de un hospicio ubicado en una p\u00e1gina cualquiera del libro que hoy se pone en circulaci\u00f3n... Dejo de tarea al lector imaginar qu\u00e9 cosa anhelan hacer esas dos ancianas en caso de tener juventud y salud... El con qui\u00e9n hacerlo, ser\u00e1 evidente.

  Lo anterior es buena noticia para Manolito el Mago. Como personaje principal de la historia que lleva su nombre, debi\u00f3 hacer los trucos para amenizar el TETEO de gratis. Pero no. Hay que pagarle su efectivo. \u00c9l josea<\/em> su dinero con el sudor de la frente de Satan\u00e1s, y el arte nigrom\u00e1ntico heredado de su madre. Y si le vienen con truco eh c\u00e1mara<\/em>... \u00a1Juhh! Esculpi\u00f3 mu\u00f1equitos de todos los personajes. Y no ser\u00e1 clav\u00e1ndoles agujitas que les va a cobrar.  Y by the way<\/em>: nada de compartir escenario con DJ Adonis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Cambio de t\u00edtulo y en LA NAVE VA el viejevo <\/em>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda, loco por jondear a Rosa, su mujer, por la borda del crucero a mitad del Caribe; escaparse con la mami chula que vio en el gimnasio con un par de viagras en los bolsillos, y frenar con ella en el TETEO. Pa mostrarle a esos palomos fan\u00e1ticos de El Alfa y Bad Bonny qui\u00e9n es el verdadero PAP\u00c1 DEL MAMBO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Un cocote <\/em>parecido <\/em>tiene el personaje Georgilo con una ucraniana que conoci\u00f3 por Facebook. Lo de \u00e9l no es tanto su visa como cog\u00e9 <\/em>c\u00e1mara en el TETEO con esa rubia, subir pila de selfies <\/em>a sus redes sociales y luego agarrarla y darle una pela eh<\/em>... \u00a1Pero bueno!, como en la gran mayor\u00eda de estas historias, el maestro Vladimir Vel\u00e1zquez mezcla de manera in\u00e9dita en nuestra literatura, lo bizarro, el horror psicol\u00f3gico o lo sobrenatural, con las m\u00faltiples y pintorescas encarnaciones de nuestra idiosincrasia caribe\u00f1a, el Sanky Panky de cuello blanco seguro se robar\u00e1 el show, pero desde el facebook live<\/em> que transmitir\u00e1 una inesperada y horrorosa hada madrina<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Ya quisiera explayarme en la amargura de vida de Miss Peggy \u2014apodo infantil que trauma a nuestro personaje cada vez que lo recuerda\u2014, igual haciendo mala sangre porque el maldito deber de ir a la funeraria a despedir el cad\u00e1ver de su odiada hermana, le impedir\u00e1 desacatarse en el TETEO. Al menos la ver\u00e1 muerta. Bien muerta. Del todo muerta. Felizmente muerta. \u00a1NO BULTO!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Y cr\u00e9anme, c\u00f3mo me gustar\u00eda tambi\u00e9n seguirle los pasos a Pablo, pintor fracasado y alucinado, en su sue\u00f1o recurrente: persiguiendo obsesivamente un hermoso fantasma femenino. Aunque jam\u00e1s debi\u00f3 acosarla en su vigilia a trav\u00e9s de las calles de la Zona Colonial. Al menos en su sue\u00f1o hubiese podido darle alcance en el TETEO, donde la peor tragedia que pod\u00eda ocurrir, ser\u00eda descubrir que su dama ideal era un transexual.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Pero no. La estrella que gu\u00eda a tres de nuestros personajes, me vaticina que ese TETEO en Freakylandia<\/em> no acabar\u00e1 bien. Resulta que Tom\u00e1s decidi\u00f3 invitar unos amiguitos muy especiales directo desde el planeta Marte. Los cuales vienen dispuestos a mover la chapa de sus tent\u00e1culos mejor que Tokisha y Cardi B. La MAC\u00d3 el nerd<\/em>. Debi\u00f3 evolucionar el tigueraje<\/em> de RD, y no la humanidad.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Encima, una gigantesca monstruosidad avanza hacia el TETEO luego de disfrutar de un bocado que result\u00f3 mortal para don Daniel y su hijo Johnny. En su finca se celebrar\u00eda el banquete de after party<\/em>. Pero el banquete se hizo una sola carne ya ni frita, asada o guisada, sino cocinada por la venganza post mortem<\/em> de C\u00e1stulo con la mejor receta del body horror<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Pero incluso ese cicl\u00f3peo collague<\/em> de longanizas, alitas de pollo y costillitas, se qued\u00f3 con el mo\u00f1o hecho... Ya que, inesperadamente: sobrevino el FIN DEL MUNDO. 

  Pero tranquilos. Otro TETEO se celebra de este lado del universo especulativo de Dominican splendours<\/em>. Aqu\u00ed mismo, en Casa de Teatro. Los beats<\/em> no son de dembow<\/em> o reggaet\u00f3n<\/em>, sino de los procesos sin\u00e1pticos de una MENTE barrocamente EXTREM\u00d3FILA. Menos mal que su ca\u00f3tica versi\u00f3n del fin del mundo est\u00e1 confinada en las p\u00e1ginas de esta, su \u00f3pera prima literaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  And believe me. How I would like as well to follow the wanderings of Pablo \u2014that failed artist with his imagination turned into a palette of hallucinogens\u2014 through his recurrence dream: chasing obsessively a beautiful female ghost.  But he should never persecute her in his awakening through the streets of the Colonial Zone. At least in his dream he would be able to reach her in the Teteo, where the worst tragedy that could occur, was to find out his ideal maiden was a trans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But truth be told, I got a bad felling about this underground party. The star guiding three of our characters, foretells me this Teteo in Freakyland won't have a happy ending. It turns out that Tom\u00e1s decided to invite a very special friends from planet Mars. They'll come eager de mover la chapa better than Tokisha or Cardi B. La MAC\u00d3 el nerd.  He should better improved DR's tigueraje, and not humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But the worst is yet about to come. For a gigantic monstrosity is heading straight toward the Teteo. He's just finished to swallow down a bite not so tasteful for the lives of Mr. Daniel and his son Johnny. In their ranch was supposed to be celebrated the after party feast. But it became a single mass of meat, neither fried nor grilled nor stewed, but cooked by the post mortem revenge of C\u00e1stulo with the best body horror recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  But even that colossus collague of spicy pork sausage, chicken wings and pork chops, stayed con el mo\u00f1o hecho \u2014For, all of a sudden: the WORLD'S END came about in full stage. 

  But don't worry folks. Another Teteo is taking place this side of the speculative universe of Dominican Splendours. Right here, in the Theater House. Those beats aren't of denbow or reggaeton, but from the synaptic processes of Vladimir Velazquez's baroquely EXTREMOPHILE mind. Luckily his chaotic version of the world ending is confined to the pages of this literary debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  That said, we must be watchful reading these tales \u2014The borderline dividing the noise of a Teteo celebrated in Dominican Splendours from another in Freakyland, is just a page that, passed to the left in the wrong way, could end being sucked by the apocalyptic black star of the first story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
